Post subject:  Sadowsky 5-String, 24-Fret For Sale!

I have for sale my beloved 24-fret, 5-string Sadowsky bass. Can't exactly tell the year without contacting Sadowsky, but I believe the serial number 3812 puts in in the early to mid 2000s. I've had this bass for about 3 or 4 years and it has been my main bass on and off. I'm the second owner. The first owner used it well, so it has its share of scratches and nicks, but nothing extraordinary, just normal wear. No big bumps or paint chips. Sadowsky frets seems extra durable to me, so they are in great shape with just slight wear. No high frets. Bass is ready to play perfectly and flawlessly. Fretboard shows a bit of wear by the heel, as shown in the photos. Full disclaimer: this bass is in amazing shape and feels and plays 100% like it should, and in looks mint from a few feet away, but it has been played, so this is not a collector's piece for those looking for a mint instrument.

Specs:

-Ash body, maple neck and board.
-About 8 lbs.
-All original Sadowsky pickups and electronics.
-Like all my basses, it's setup with very low action.
-Comes with Dunlop straplocks.
-Comes with original lightweight case and polishing cloth. The case is just a bit dirty and has a few blemishes here and there, but fully functional.

I'm not too crazy about selling this bass, so I'm pricing it according to what it's worth for me to let it go, and that is $2799, which includes shipping to continental USA and Paypal fees, if any. (And that price still is much lower in comparison to other used Sadowsky I see in the Internets.)

International shipping available, but please send me a private message for shipping quotes and terms. I'm sorry, but NO TRADES this time. Cash money is the only thing I need right now.

Don't hesitate to ask any questions!

:)

About the controls, does it have the VTC?
What does the switch?

No VTC - they were not doing than yet. The switch is the preamp bypass. The four controls are: volume, pickup balance, bass and highs.

Do you think a vtc can be added?
As far as I'm concerned, I really like to have a tone control with the passive mode.

They sell it direct: http://www.sadowsky.com/store/vintage-tone-control-vtc-retrofit-kit.html

Although it says that "holes may need to be enlarged."

Send an email to info@sadowsky.com and ask them. Tell them you want to retrofit a VTC in bass with serial number 3812. They will tell you.

BTW, I just found out that the bass was built in 2003, for those wondering.

Lots of interest in this bass, but no money in my pocket yet. I just put it on eBay, but let me know if anybody wants it and we can work out a deal.

I'm putting this guy up for sale again. Please buy it before I change my mind again. I'm attached to this bass so it's hard to let it go.

I'll do $2650 shipped anywhere in the USA, Canada, and these European countries: Netherlands, U.K., France, Germany, Italy, Belgium, and Switzerland. But please contact me if you are interested and are from a country not mentioned.

I accept Paypal as long as you are a verified user and your address is verified. Otherwise I accept wire transfer.

Photos here. Don't hesitate to ask any questions. Thanks.

I rather not, but if I were to consider a trade it would be a Jazz Bass and/or a 4-string fretless. . . I got my 5-strings covered.

Thanks

I put this bass on eBay and it didn't sell.

Let me know if anybody here is interested and send me your offer, don't be shy. Worst that can happen is that I say no. I'm definitely not looking for trades at the moment.

As an incentive, I'll lower the price to $2300 plus shipping. :D

C'mon, guy, what's it gonna take to put you behind that beige Buick's wheel?
