Greetings, lefty friends.

For your consideration I present you my Mike Lull V4 Jazz Bass. This bass has a bit of a story, if you care to catch a glimpse of my demented mind (although I know some of you suffer just like I do). I ordered this bass new from Lull about two years ago. Had a really nice experience with Bass NW and the Lull shop. At the time, I had "decided for good" that I wanted to stick with just one bass type, that being a 4-string Jazz. This really is home for me, both in ergonomics and sound, BUT, time and time again I'm "forced" to play a 5-string, mostly because my band's material really benefits with the use of a 5-string, and I kind of hate using an octave pedal. So, by the time I received this bass, I had already changed my mind and really wanted a 5-string Jazz instead. Plus I had one of those guilty moments when you realize you really have more basses than you need. Oh well, timing. . . This bass is fantastic in every way, but reality/G.A.S./buyer's remorse sat in and I decided to offer it for sale. I sold it for $2000 to a fellow forum member. But because G.A.S is permanent and cyclical, after playing my P-Bass a lot, and my StingRay 5 a lot, I pulled my '82 Jazz from the case and just for the fun of it brought it to a gig, and OMG, it just felt so right. I was in love again (schizophrenic G.A.S thinking . . . ). I did another gig, and still in Jazz-bass loving mode I remembered the Lull and how nice it played, with its perfect PLEK fretboard and super light weight. So, although all along what I really "needed" was a 5-string Jazz to complete the collection, which meant ordering one from either Lull or Roscoe (my top choices) G.A.S. took over and I contacted the owner of the Lull and offered to buy it back. He happened to be willing, and the bass was back in my hands in no time. I have a hard time ordering basses and waiting months, so an available bass is always more appealing to me (especially to the evil consumer inside of me), even if it's not what I need/want.

So, here it is, again. I hope somebody will fall in love with it. I paid $2700+ for it, and sold it the first time for $2000. I'd love to get $2700, but, I'll take $1950 shipped and Paypaled. International shipping is no problems. Please PM me or email me at kakoguzman@hotmail.com

Bass is in mint condition. The previous owner played it very lightly. There are very slight signs of wear on the pickguard, and there is a small chip of clear coat on the headstock. More pics on request. Comes with original super deluxe case.

Very open to trades, especially if you have a 5-string, lightweight bass.

Specs:
V4, fullsize Jazz body shape
Ash body, ultra light at 7.6 lb
Maple neck with birdseye maple fretboard
7-1/4" fretboard radius (special request)
Hipshot D-tuner (an option)
'70s pickup spacing (special request)
Lindy Fralin single coils with staggered pole pieces to match the radius of the fretboard
PLEK'ed frets = ultra low action
Aztec gold color it's a treat to the eyes, and it changes a bit depending on the lighting, but it's a very intense gold color, more than, say, shoreline gold.

Now for the subjective specs: it's super resonant with lots of sustain, and it balances perfectly. Nice and tight '70s type Jazz Bass sound, but still with a modern touch and consistency across the fretboard. The neck shape is one of the best I've played, not too thin, not too thick. And for those wondering about Lull quality, I'd say is on par with Sadowsky and US Lakland.

Don't hesitate to contact me with any questions. Excuse me now, I have to go take my medicine.

Thanks, Crabby.

I guess I should've specified that I'm open to trades of 5-string basses only. Ideal trades would be a 5-string, 34" scale, well under 9 lb, and fretless get extra points.

Okay, guys, I'm limiting my trade options to this bass. Only looking for a fretless Zon that looks like this. I know they are out there, roaming around like meek unicorn.

It's 9.6 lbs or else you'd have a deal!

I'm kinda motivated to find this guy a new home (although not desperate). I'm opening trades to 4-strings, amps, cabs and pedals (or any combination of each). Other areas of interest are exotic birds, Iranian Beluga caviar, European men purses and collectable Beanie Babies.

No, seriously, I'm open to trades of any type of bass, the only rule that remains is that it has to weigh less than 9 lb (and don't have any real interest in another Jazz-type bass ... )
And cash is king, so don't be afraid to send me your offers. . . ;)

Thanks for those who sent me trade offer, but nothing enticing enough.

Putting this guy on eBay but I'll keep offers open for forum members. If you are thinking about it, let's we can work out a price.

Thanks

Love the color and the weight.

Is the body chambered?

I hear the brightness on your YouTube video. But does it also sound deep and full?

Hey, bbl, it's a solid body, not chambered. I'd say the bass is well-balanced, with a bit of extra brightness, and a lot of lows. I find myself backing down the lows just a bit in my amp when playing this bass at high volume.

Lower price bump: $1750 plus shipping.

Shipping to Europe usually is $150.

Thanks

I'm curious, what did you trade it for?

I traded it to a dealer where I'm placing an order for custom Roscoe. I've been wanting to get a custom Roscoe for quite a while, but I have a hard time paying full price for a bass and waiting for a custom, but it's clear that the 5-string of my dreams won't magically appear in stock somewhere.

I'll post about it when I get it in a few months.

;-)
