https://www.dropbox.com/sh/fn2u9vdtfj5co73/i2ZJ8OJ5zj In the pictures at this link above I did not clean up the bass or case so you can see it “as is”
but I will clean it up nicely before actually sending it out. I purchased it from Musician's Friend on October 7, 2008.
The bass is in excellent shape 9.5/10.0 with no scratches on the body, back or neck. The neck is straight, action medium-low, and the truss rod is in perfect working order. The pickguard is scratched from use. The Pickups have been upgraded to “DiMarzio DP123 Model J Bass Pickup Set Black”
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/accessories/dimarzio-dp123-model-j-bass-pickup-setwith the additionally ordered chrome inset screws (instead of the original black inserts)
The black pick guard was ordered through
http://www.terrapinguitars.com as I updated all my bass pick guards from the boring white and other bland colors Fender seems to use stock.
The Gator case has many scuff marks and the center post foam has a dent in the foam but, is otherwise in excellent physical condition. Someone who knows what they are doing could easily repair the dent foam.
I do not believe this FRS bass model came with a gig bag (like my other Standard Left Handed Midnight Wine Jazz bass) and the original Tortoise pick guard and MIM pickups are not included in this sale as they are long gone.
I will also throw in 2 black good quality Levi guitar straps, the Fender supplied truss rod wrench, a Monster 10’ guitar cable, and an extra set of unopened Ernie Ball Bass Strings
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/accessories/ernie-ball-2834-super-slinky-round-wound-bass-strings(same strings as on the bass now). I have a Luthier work on all my guitars and basses and he just set this one up and “tinned” the inside of the electronics cavity.
I absolutely love this bass and case and the sound is fantastic with almost no hum at all. I have picked up and played many left handed MIM and American Jazz basses in a brick and mortar shop (in fact just a few days ago) but, they often feel and sound a cheesy. This bass is absolutely superior to many top of the line American Jazz Basses. The sound was good with the stock MIM pickups but, the upgrades put it in a completely superior category of sound. Perhaps it is the Ash body which has a deep natural ash color and not faded out like some Ash basses I have seen.
Cost is priced to sell at $300.00 plus shipping.
I am selling only because I contracted Multiple Sclerosis in July of 2010 and unfortunately my gigging days are over so my PA gear, and many items are slowly being sold off. This is my favorite bass guitar.
