I have a Warwick Corvette fretless with factory maple lines. This bass was assembled by our dear member Thumbslam. These are the components: -German factory fretless with lines (quite rare) with an exquisite ebony board - 3-piece ovankol neck. This neck is a dream, easily one of the most comfortable 5-strings I've had, and certainly the most comfortable Warwick neck - not too thick or too thin. -All German hardware: gold tuners, bridge, and knobs. Gold Dunlop Straplocks added. -All German MEC electronics with humbucking pickups and 3-band active preamp with bypass. -German brass nut with individual string height adjustment (highly desirable, as I understand). -Korean (I believe) ash body from a Corvette standard. As I understand, Thumbslam is a Warwick freak and has played with Warwicks and their parts for a long time. The former US distributor of Warwick put a bunch of old stock for sale a few years ago, and that's where some of these parts come from. I personally never seen another Corvette fretless with lines (I've seen a bunch without). And they are pretty much impossible to find unless you pay more than $3000 for a German order. The finish was hand-applied by Thumbslam. It's a gold antique finish with hand-painted lines - looks amazing to my eyes, and I got compliments every time I took it to a gig. The bass is setup perfectly, with low action and no buzzing, and it sounds amazing. Weighs under 9 lbs. Condition of the neck is near mint - it was basically new when I got it and I have played it moderately for few months. I has a tiny chip by the end corner of the fretboard (the little hang over the body) but it's quite insignificant. Body was newly painted when I got it, but it's an antique finish, so it has a few nicks here and there, but it's supposed to be like that. Reason for selling: I recently got that Rob Allen MB-2 fretless that was being offered, and I already have an old Yamaha fretless - so there is not need or room in my life for this one. And how much does all this cost, you may ask? I paid $650 for it. I believe there is much more than that in parts alone. That neck alone has to be more than $1000 if ordered from Warwick. I will do $599 shipped and Paypaled within continental US. Please contact me for international shipping. Thanks |
