This is a 2012 American Precision Bass body with a 2010 American Jazz Bass neck. American Fender all around. Body was bought from Stratosphere as mint, so it is mint with just the slightest signs of use, and the neck (with original, current, American tuners) was bought here from a fellow forum member. The neck is in excellent + condition. Barely shows any signs of wear and the fret work simply is perfect: low action with no buzzing or high spots. Like all my basses, it plays like butter. The J neck fits the P body like a glove.

Now for the custom and extra stuff (all bought new for this bass):

-Current American Fender high-mass bridge with string through body.

-Current American Fender neck plate.

-WD black/white/black pickguard, as new.

-New Aguilar P-Bass Hot pickup. These just came out and are amazing. Higher volume and lots of growl and punch. Not as hot as Dimarzio Ps, and not mids-scooped like SD Quarter Pounder.

-Custom varitone tone from Certain Bass. I never use the tone pot so I wanted something different. Call me crazy for paying $100 for this. . . I guess I was trigger happy. It works great.

-Exilir strings x-light set installed in the bass. PLUS, I will include a brand-new, unopened set stainless steel Sadowsky strings as well (this came in with another bass I bought, but I don’t use stainless steel).
http://www.sadowsky.com/store/blue-label-stainless-round-4-string-light.html

-Vintage cloth wiring all around. All cavities and pickguard are super shielded with copper tape and tested for conductivity. This bass is absolutely quiet! I won’t win any awards for my technical skills, but the job is really solid.

-Dunlop strap locks included. http://www.jimdunlop.com/product/dual-design

-Brand new Gator hard case. It has a slight bend on one side, which I fixed, but it’s new otherwise. http://www.gatorcases.com/p/16134-1677/gc-bass

-Bass weighs between 8 lb and 8.5 lb.

The story behind this bass is that I wanted to build myself a P bass with a J neck for traveling or “touring” (I fly to gigs with my bass maybe 10 times year) but my Mike Lull Jazz is not selling, and I treated myself to a dream bass (the green Sadowsky PJ that was for sale here). So, I need to move something. That’s the only reason why I’m selling this.

Now for the subjective stuff: this bass smokes. I really love the current P-Bass bodies. I really think that the alder they are using is of great quality and it’s dried right, because they sound amazing. The bass sounds like what a good American, alder/rosewood P-bass should sound, and then some. It has incredible lows and mids. The Aguilar gives it a lot of attitude without being overpowering. Not to mention the looks of this bass. The Alder has nice grain, the rosewood is nice and dark, and the black pickguard with the oversized pickup polepieces look classy.

So, if anybody is looking for a quality P-Bass with a J neck, look no further.

I got $1000+ in this bass with all these extras. Willing to sell for $895 plus actual shipping. I use Fedex ground in CONUS and USPS for Europe.

PM me or email me with any questions and for exact shipping quote, both domestic and international: kakoguzman@hotmail.com

Thanks!

Oh Mama! If I could justify another bass right now I'd be all over this. Carlos is very good at setting up basses too, this beast will play well. It's light. It has a sweet pickup in it. Lotta plusses on this one.

Thanks, Andrew. I know this one is right up your alley. Just played this bass this weekend through a vintage Ampeg stack (not sure the year), and "Oh, Mama!" came to mind. . . :)

If I didn't have my sights set on something else right now I would be considering this bass Carlos... and I'm not even a Fender guy. But if I were to get a Fender this would be it. Very cool. 8-)

Not for now, Matt. I have two guys pretty much ready to buy. . . and it would be a shame to part it out. . .

Why is that unfortunate?

though the price itself is great. the grand total of bass + a supposed insured shipping price * + import duties is almost the price of a new P purchased at a local store. Of course this is a personal consideration, no offense to anyone is intended.

* when dealing with US sellers i never had shipping quotes below 200 $, so this is he quote i supposed.
