-Made in Japan, 1983
-Weight is only 8.5 lb, or less, quite balanced and light
-Monstrous tone
-Perfect setup - looks like somebody spent a few hundred dollars doing a super pro fret job on this bass. It plays 100% flawlessly. Really nice wide "vintage-type" frets, ala '70s Fenders.
-Neck is nice and slim, very much like a Jazz Bass. It has a slight soft V shape. Nut is just a tad over 1.5", so, much closer to a Jazz than to a P.
-The neck is a right-handed neck, so there are no dots on the upper side. The previous owner stated that he had the bass for a few years and was bought like that. I painted some dots with a Sharpie. You may remove those with alcohol and do a better job with something else, but they work as they are. The neck is well played, but it has mojo galore and it feels wonderfully in the hand.
-Body also has it's share of wear, but nothing bad. There is a chip by the neck joint, typical of many bolt on basses. I'm guessing that if you are considering this bass you are not much worried about the cosmetic condition; but if you are finicky about those things, let me know and I can take more pictures of the wear.
-I checked under the hood and all the components and solders are original. The pickup is like a Dimarzio P, with adjustable pole pieces (but it's the original Ibanez pickup). It sounds amazing at home and in the studio.

So, all this wonder for just $325 shipped and Paypaled. Oh, and it comes with Dunlop Straplocks installed.

For those looking for a maple neck P-Bass, this fits the bills; and also for those looking for a P-Bass with a Jazz-width neck, this is it.

Boy, this is tempting. My first 'real' guitar was a 1986 Ibanez Roadstar II in black. I still have it in the basement. This would make such a nice compliment!

Happy Father's Day bump, and pre-eBay bump. . .

Let me know if you are thinking about getting this guy and let's work something out. Like our fellow forum member Musicfreak would say: deals can be made! ;)

Not that it affects the bass in any way, but is that a blue dot in the middle of the board in the 5th picture? It doesn't show up in the last picture of the neck...

LOL, no, that's just a reflection of the computer's monitor screen.

Ahhh, the joys of being a lefty - buy a bass, sell it and lose money, then the next guy has to sell it cheap just to move it, then the next guy.... :?

I've been hoarding basses - mostly around the $200 mark. Not sure if I'm trying to make up for the Distillate I sold for $800 (now worth $3500)
the white Steinberger, the '72 Jazz, or the number of other basses I've lost money on. I've vowed to never sell a bass once I own it...

My new favorite bass! Next time I head to the Miami area I'll take you out for dinner -

I love everything about this bass.

Awesome. Nice to hear you like it - it is a sweet bass indeed. I'll hit you up also next time I'm in St. Pete or Tampa. My band usually goes there at least once a year (we usually do Jannus Live, and play the festival organized by the WMNF Radio Station).
