Last night I used my Ric 4003V63 (which doesn't get played all that much) on a gig. Ran it through the Fender Super Bassman300 and NEO 610 cab. I was completely blown away by the tones coming out of that rig. All those classic growly Ric tones were there in spades from Macca to Squire to Foxton to Geddy, you name it and it was there. The Ric shall henceforth be deemed gig-worthy

So enough gushing about that rig. The downer for me was the apparent discovery that I have righty pots in the bass, since they basically function as on-off switches. Haven't looked under the hood to verify if indeed that's the case but that'll happen soon enough.

My questions are pretty basic. Any recommendations or thoughts on any particular lefty pots that I ought to be looking at? How about wiring the harness? Any gotcha's there I should be aware of?

Check out Pick of the Ricks, I purchased a guitar from him this year and stopped at his store to pick it up, after speaking to him you can tell he is very knowledgeable on all things Ric.

You mean the guys at Rickenbacker don't know you can't wire a righty audio taper pot in lefty config?
I can't find it now but Gravesbass previously sent me link of a site where you can order lefty pots.
To avoid complications I decided years ago to wire all my instruments righty that way I don't need lefty pots.

not exactly, I don't have the stereo output. I only have a single mono output. But otherwise it sure looks identical.

That reminds me I have a 1993 Am Std Strat and one tone knob works clockwise and the other one counter clockwise. I think it is because one of them was this TBX (?) tone control stuff and that was probably not made in lefty.
I thought someone had messed up with the guitar until I found out that all the strats from that time were the same.
