| Post subject: | RIP former Pat Travers Bassist Peter "Mars" Cowling |
Always been a big Pat Travers fan, and Mars was a HUGE influence on my playing. Call it "feel, groove, flow", melodic, aggressive, out front or in the pocket- whatever- he had it in spades. As much as I dug the some of bigger name guys, the guy I most wanted to sound and play like was Mars. Back in the day I spent many hours rewinding and rewinding tapes, copying his licks. RIP Mars. IMO one of the best and most underrated rock bass players ever. |
