Southpaw guitars posted something published by Infowars (just Google Infowars if you are not familiar with it) on their Facebook page. What do you guys think of that? Am I the only one thinking businesses should stay out of politics? |

Infowars doesn't count as politics. So Southpaw is overpriced AND batshit crazy. |

It's their right to post whatever they want to. It's also my right to think as many of you guys do, that politics is best left out of business... and in my opinion, out of music, too. I like some sites that you might not, and you might like stuff I don't. We're still 'free' to voice our opinions. For now. I will not buy some artist's work, because they have become overly political. A lot of these so called celebrities seem to think they know more about how we should behave, and live our lives than we do. And yeah, I have some vintage social commentary set to music in my collection. But that music is 'vintage' lol. And yeah, Southpaw, is indeed overpriced. |

My son and daughter are now 14 and 15, I tell them almost once a week that this is not your typical presidential election and both sides are very far apart and way too much mud slinging. I also tell them that as business owners we could loose business if we support either way, so it's a no win situation. On the bright side Miley Cyrus said she would leave the US if Trump Wins...................... |

Social media in the wrong hands is a receipe for disaster. I know it is Jimmy's own business and he does whatever the heck he wants but I totally lose respect for someone doing that. I happen to be in charge of the social media for a business and my only goal is to promote my company and shed a positive light on everything we do. Playing music and talking about music gear is a great way to escape this ugly presidential campagne (we are all sick of it, right?) and I found that totally uncalled for and distasteful. Saying "I am not talking about politics" then posting Infowars stuff is about the same as saying "I am not a racist" then quoting something you've read on a white supremacist website. |

It's hard to bite your lip over politics sometimes, especially when you see/hear something you feel compelled to argue, but if I'm running a business I think it's best to steer clear from any of that. You can (and will) turn some customers off. A few years ago Mandolin Bros. made the mistake of sending me an e-mail asking me to sign a petition to tell Congress "No" to sales tax increased for small online businesses. I wrote back them them and carved them a new one. Why? Guess who was spear heading this otherwise "noble" campaign? John Donahue, president of eBay. The same Mr. Donahue who was released from eBay in 2014 with a $23mil golden parachute. |

I think we already covered that Infowars isn't politics. Infowars is to politics what pr0n is to dating. |

LOL! Right! His statement reminded me of those naive guys coming to you saying they got into "this great business venture" then you find out it is a pyramid scheme. |

I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and assume that he took the story at face value and thought he was making a public service announcement. It seems more of a "double check your ballot" post than a "[candidate] = lizard person" post. |

Even if you are going to post something political on your business site, Alex Jones is probably far out enough to cause you some grief from a lot of quarters. |
