Anybody using one? There's a number of different rooms I'm playing regularly now, and 1 in particular has hard wood floors where my bass is just resonating and bouncing all over the room. Also considering one for my home studio to cut back on bass rattle around the room. Any thoughts?

I'm also curious... the stage is so bad in one room we play, the vibrations were traveling through my mic stand and causing really weird low freq feedback to happen through my vocal mic.

It took forever to figure out what was up.... we run sound from stage and couldn't take the time to isolate it, so we finally just had to mute my mic on songs where I'm not singing.

It's nice to feel a little pulse under your feet when you play, but some of these shoe-box stages these places have set up for live music are an acoustic nightmare.

Interesting. Never even heard of these. I bet this would solve many nightmares playing upright live, assuming this thing actually works.

This video, though not a bass, shows some pretty noticeable results:

I've used them a bunch on different bass cabs. They do wonders at moderate to loud volumes to reduce low standing waves on hardwood or hollow stages (not 100% there, but better).

We tested one in the shop on the second floor which is concrete and steel using a Genz Benz 810 cab and the Gramma dropped transference of sound down quite a bit.

Wow, that was pretty dramatic.

I'm sold.

I ordered the GreatGRAMMA v2 from Sweetwater today... The regular GRAMMA would've been a perfect fit for my single Bergantino CN112 cabs, but I also have a NV610T that might benefit from it, so I wanted a bigger size to cover most scenarios. There's not a huge size difference between the two anyway.

I have this weekend off, but my gig on the following weekend will be the perfect place to try it out.

As soon as I get a chance to use it, I'll report back.

Cool! Would love to read your experience. :)
(as I was also baffled by the difference on that stage)

I have two Gamma's, and have been using them for years. One of them is cut in half, and when I decide to pack it to a gig, I put it under my amp to isolate it from the cabs. I've played enough venues here on Oahu to know which stages are fine, and which ones need the gamma. It really works in isolating your cab/cabs from a hollow stage, or slab of concrete... definitely worth the price, and in fact, they're less expensive now than when I bought mine when they first came out....

Awesome! Can't wait to hear your results. There's an older version on ebay now I might consider grabbing. As far as I can tell, the only difference is the newer Gramma v2 has thinner foam (1.75" vs 2.75"). I would think that the thicker foam of the older would offer more absorption, but I wish I could A/B the old vs new to see if there's any noticeable difference.

I think I'm gonna get one as well. Looked for one at geetar center but they didn't have any. I'd love to see what it can do for playing upright.

From what I've gathered in my limited research, the new lower profile has better stability... less chance of a top heavy amp to rock under the thinner, denser foam.

And since the new foam they're using is denser, it supposedly tightens up the lows and low-mids more.

I can definitely say that I like the old-style handle system better, though... looks more substantial than fabric. :? I'm assuming that was most likely a cost-cutting decision.

But, yeah... an A/B would be nice.

They had such success with the first version, I'd be really surprised if they would've made any changes that were a step backward... and I've been unable to find any negative reviews that say anything about the new version being a step down.

Anyway, I'll let you know what happens... I get it tomorrow, so I'll probably try it out at home just to see.

Would you even need one of these on solid concrete?

It seems like whenever I play on a concrete patio or deck is when I have the least amount of coupling problems.

It just seems to tighten up the bottom-end, especially if I'm playing in a large warehouse type of setting. Seems here in Hawaii, a lot of buildings are built with hollow-block tiles, so coupled with a concrete floor, it can get quite boomy. You should try it in a lot of different settings/venues, and see what you think of the difference in tone with/without it. I'd be curious to see what you think....
