Words cannot describe the sadness I feel over this terrible news. |

Yup, very sad, but he lived such a full life. I saw him back in 1995 or so, and I swear I thought he was going to die not long after that, but he kept on touring for another 17 years or so. Amazing! |

I had the pleasure of seeing Mr.King perform many times. The show I remember most fondly was in 1982 at a small supper club here in Jersey called Club Bene. (defunct now for many years) If you opted for the rubber chicken dinner you could get a table right up front ,which of course we did. Watched the show from about 3 feet from the stage. Jerry Jemmott was the bassist that night and man the band was smokin'. Will never forget that night. |

Got to see him at the old Robin Hood Dell East in Philly back in the 70's, I was just a kid but I knew I was seeing a legend. Not only an amazing talent and icon but for all accounts I heard he was one of the nicest guys out there. I never read any bad press about him and that is pretty unusual. |
