It was destined to happen.
I had a weak moment.
I dropped my guard and got guitarded and for a moment thought I might get Craigdelisted and maybe even "gimped"
Seriously.
No BS.
I saw a listing on local Craigs (it's still there) for a "New Reunion Blues BASS case" $120
Against my better judgement I contacted the seller and offered $80
Right away he said "OK yes cool"
(Just to be safe/sure) I said as long as it will fit a plain vanilla 4-string P-Bass, it's sold I'll take it (I never flake out)
He said cool come check it out.
I drive all the f'n way across town (Nashville has gotten big lately...not Chicago or LA big but bigger and I hate cars)
We meet and right away I'm like fck that ain't a bass case but get out my tape and check. Sure enough it's like just 35 or 36" long and I'm looking for 46".
It
is Brand New and in perfect condition with all the tags and sh%t.
I say this isn't even close to a bass case but it's a helluva nice guitar case.
Now I left out the part where he's a guitar player living in NASHVILLE and recording, rehearsing, etc. (according to him)
And he's like, "WTF!? Who knew?"
I say no that won't work.
He says, "Oh sh*t! I have another one of these and I think I brought the wrong one!" Let's go back to my place and take a look at it! (we met at a public place).
I don't really give a Fck and say OK (I've seen a lot and been in deep sh*t before; yes I know that does NOT make me immune)
So I follow him to his place which is not that far away....
Did I leave out the part where I tell you he looks A LOT like Ned from Pulp Fiction? The one workin' behind the counter at the pawn shop Bruce Willis goes into trying to hide from Marcellus?
I sh*t you not. AND he has a roomie that fills in perfectly for Ned's sidekick (the other one, not the gimp)
Well, I did NOT get gimped or Craigsdelisted but it was not cool looks-wise.
He did have another RB case that was even nicer, the more expensive one (not leather though).
But MF'er it was the same guitarded size!
How could he not know???
There was all kinds of brand new stuff in there with tags, etc. etc..............
