I know this ain't a bass thing but it is a lefty thing. I dropped one of my old campfire acoustics off at a local repair shop last week for a new bridge saddle, nut and basic setup. (I'm a bassist first and foremost so I don't show the 6 strings in my house quite enough love. I figured it was due.) I should start by saying, the guitar was fully assembled with strings on it when I brought it in. I should also say, I had a rather lengthy chat with the service tech about the whole southpaw thing.

Well, I picked it up today. I was in a hurry and just paid the bill and ran back out to my van - having not paid for parking and hoping not to get caught - without looking inside the case. When I got home, here's what I found when I took it out of the case.

What the.....?!?

That's right folks. They installed and cut a brand new nut THE WRONG WAY. (I know some of you play this way but I don't.) They also installed the new bridge saddle backwards - with the compensated bit for the B string in the right place if I did play that way - but, thankfully, didn't bother to re-slot or replace the bridge so that the angle was right for proper intonation of a right handed strung instrument anyway.

GUH.....

That's all. Just wanted to vent to some folks that will likely understand the frustration here. (I'm so glad I have the tools and patience to deal with my electric instruments on my own.)

Are you gonna make them put it back the "right" way? :-)

What a pain...

 Maybe they're trying to give you a hint. Play the right(y) way.

You might have to sell it to Austin now. ;)
