Everytime I go to Guitar Center, and especially over the week-end, hearing the cacophony of those mediocre shredder-wannabe guitar players, I always think it must be the ultimate torture for a musician to work there. And if Hell there is, this is exactly how it must sound like. How can anyone work there without blowing a fuse?

This is what hell sounds like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0mG_lCVHvEQ
it was part of a discussion in a TB thread a while back. I haven't fully recovered yet.

I've always considered Stallaggh the sound of hell. Their 'music' is quite disturbing, and rumour has it they use samples of actual mental patients as 'vocals'. Yes, you can actually buy this on CD :?

If there was a hell, I suppose that's probably what it would sound like... that was horrible, but I'm not sure I would even classify it as music.

As far as actual "music" is concerned, I always imagined that Gyorgy Ligeti pretty much had the most hellish soundscapes and compositions that I have ever heard, where I actually enjoyed listening to them.

Listen to "Atmospheres" alone.. in a big room... with a candle as your only source of light.

I dare you.

that shite sounds like an industrial machine shop.

welders cutting metal for the singer, machinists grinding metal corners for the guitars, and stamping machines for the drums and white noise to drown out everything else.

if that band was booked into a bar where an OSHA agent was drinking he would shut it down for the patrons not wearing earplugs.

 One minute-forty seconds exactly for me too. I saw it was a 5:11 minute "song" and said to hell with this. That must be the absolute statue of limitations for people with a melodic sense. ;)

Still, I'm fascinated thinking about how the creative process might happen on something like this.

(Scene: the band's rehearsal studio, somewhere in Shinola)

Guitarist: "Dudes, I came up with an awesome new song last night. Check it out!"

...And where do they go from there?

that steak guitar picture is not right. That picture is before it went to hell and was burned up..BUT I'll bet if it was used in one of those shows in the youtube videos, it would not look pink and juicy anymore ..
