Southpaw is taking pre orders for Les Paul and SG basses. The pics on their FB page are flipped righty images, no lefty images available yet.

considering how hot and cold Gibson is blowing re us lefties this year, I would not wait forever to order one of these.

And of course, if Southpaw is taking pre-orders, I'm sure you can make arrangements with your favorite Gibson dealer.

If these are the Les Paul oversized basses I'll definitely try to get one. :)

OMG another sign of the apocalypse--

Newly posted note on southpaw's Facebook page says: "Featured photo. 2013 SG Bass. Thunder birds also on order" :o

Specs listed for the Les Paul bass indicate that will be 34" scale. SWEET.

 Wow. So I guess all my decades of hate mail have finally paid off.

Very reasonable prices on those, especially the SG ($799). I wonder if all those finishes will be available in lefty. A goldtop LP bass would be killer! And what's the street price going to be on the T-Birds?

Minimum Advertised Price or something like that, I think.

:D I've been right there with you Pete every year.

Based on the color selection it seems that these lefty Les Paul basses must be the oversized versions. Really stoked!

And Thunderbird basses? Do they only come in tobaccoburst now? That's the finish I'd like, the Thunderbird is one of the few basses I don't really like in black finish. But being lefty, black finish is typically the order of the day for us.

Just put my deposit down for an SG Bass-Cherry at Southpaw. I'll get the first one that arrives, but no ETA. Jimmy says that Gibson are referring to them as "Limited Edition 2012" and are building them now.
