Just got word an hour ago from a friend who lives in N.Y that Jimmy Haslip has left the Yellow Jackets, and about 5 mintues ago Ingrid Pastorius updated on her Jaco page on facebook that Felix Pastorius has officially accepted an offer to be Haslip's replacement. I am at once sad to see Haslip go and thrilled for Felix, I have been a fan of his since the Way of the Groove days when him and his twin brother Julius made up one of the best jazz rhythm sections I have ever had the pleasure of seeing live.

Indeed, sadly she passed away sometime in late November IIRC.

WHAAAAAAA!?! wow don't I feel like an ass, I know she was the one running Jaco's Facebook page for the longest time. I met her several times and she was by far one of the nicest sweetest people I ever had the pleasure of meeting, she referred to me as Stu's nephew's friend even when addressing me directly...it's weird to think about her not being there to hold court at the Jaco Birthday partys down in Fort Lauderdale.....wow I am really bummed out now

“The chair is still [Haslip's], and I’m just fortunate to keep it warm for him… very honored and looking forward to playing some music,” he added.
