Saw that he died a while back on talkbass. What was it about him that everybody dislikes? I've heard a lot of people mention that.

To say that he was abrubt, opinionated and more direct than a New York cop would be an understement.

When I met him, my impression was that he thought a little too highly of himself, but hey, I don't like disrespecting the dead.

My wife's comment - who is a nurse - was that he was headed for a stroke.

I never disliked him, but I would never have bought an instrument from him.

I don't have time at the moment to write what I want to say about Ed, but for now, I'll just say that the bass in my profile pic is an Ed Roman bass. More later....
