What the title says. I'm considering perhaps attending. Is it worth it? Will I be able to see/try many lefty basses? What is your experience in previous years? |

I like seeing everything, but the highlights are usually amps and pedals for me because, as AZWhoFan said, lefties are few. Though I know Regenerate is bringing a bunch of lefties this year. |

I have been to NAMM twice, and knew I wouldn't see much in the way of left hand basses, but I was there more for the latest in cabinets and amps. Wish Regenerate was there when I was! Still it's worth going at least once. The excitement, and sheer magnitude of manufacturers and displays, spread out over five floors the length of a football field, is worth seeing! I feel Thursday and Friday are the best days to go, as it won't be nearly as crowded as on the weekends. Besides it takes at least two days to get around to seeing everything you want to see - and even then you probably won't! I say go if you can....

I gotta agree with fivebass. For me it is 'the greatest show on earth'. I attended Thu, Fri, Sat of last year and still didn't get to see everything I wanted to. I always recommend creating a list of vendors you want to investigate. |

Rod, it looks like you're surrounded by good company this year. You should be the loudest booth in your immediate area If you get a free moment (HA!) check out the Goldtone booth. Hopefully they will bring some of James Beard's Signatue lap steels (not the Goldtone licensed models). James makes some killer instruments.

indeed a good collection of brands within the booth this year  I like that the three bass builders sharing space each cover a completely different aspect - Watson has a lot of single-cuts and a new fanned-fret model, Skip will have a couple of his 38" scale units, and I have what would be considered the more traditional basses. personality wise, it should also be a fun group it's also a great location - just inside the main Hall E doors. if you get lost, just look for the guy in the kilt (Skip of CircleK strings) all the best, R |

Been very interested in circle K strings of late... would enjoy stopping be their booth and talking to them! Rod, any opinions on their strings? Would like to hear more about the conversations you have with them regarding tension balanced versus unbalanced string sets.... |

Do you guys bring your own bass to NAMM to try out the AMPS, effects, etc? Or do you guys just use whatever is around there (most likely righty basses)? |

as a general rule, attendees are not allowed to enter or exit with gear. there is a significant paperwork trail to enter/exit with an instrument all the best, R |
