uh, don't you just wave your [irrespective of orientation] hand around one of them things and they make sounds?

I remember seeing video of Wendy O. Williams -God rest her soul- waving a chainsaw around one of those things back in the 80's ...

.... just sayin' ....

I knew Wendy when she lived with Rod Swenson, in a loft building in lower Manhattan..in 1978. I was in a band that lived and rehearsed upstairs, and were friends of theirs. She was an exotic dancer at Show world, on 42nd. st. in the heart of the then very dangerous Times Square district. The band I played with was the inspiration fro Rod and Wendy to form the Plasmatics. I actually have a cassette somewhere with her gravelly voice introducing us.

EWPro Theremin Goes for 7G!
Posted By: omhoge @ 09:22
EtherWave Pro Limited Edition

An EtherWave Pro Theremin, now discontinued from Moog Music, sold at auction on EBay yesterday for a whopping $7,871.00! Almost five times the original list price.
Guess there's no better way to emphasize the message to Moog Music that we really need a professional model on the market.
Congratulations to the lucky buyer, hope you'll be making some wonderful aether tunes with it. Still wish everyone who had wanted one could have had this excellent instrument.

and wow the lefty version is cheaper...isn't that IRONIC...lol

Yep. Really no need to own a high priced theremin when the cheapest ones do the same thing.

Not to hijack this thread, but two of my all-time favorite Plasmatic moments worth checking out (and, if it's any consolation, guitarist Richie Stotts IS left handed, thus making this somewhat relevant).

The first is their appearance on the Tom Snyder's The Tomorrow Show. Talk about dangerous TV!
Blowing up a car within a few feet of the audience. And I feel bad for all the old folks who got their free tickets to Snyder's show, having no clue what they were about see, only to have Richie Stotts climbing all over their heads, LOL.

The second appearance was on SCTV's, Gil Fisher's "Fishin' Musician" show (aka John Candy, R.I.P.). You Canadians should know this one, :

Got to see them live in the early 80s.

True, but if I won the lotto, that theremin is mine!
