The Who done on an ATK300. Nice!
You guys sound huge, just as a Who cover band should.
Great job.
I'm curious: what's the Hawaiian music scene like out there, or specifically for the type of stuff you guys play? I've been to the islands a few times, but it seemed like the majority of the music to be found was more traditional, indigenous Hawaiian music. (Maybe I need to get off the resorts).
P.S. my heart and prayers go out to those who were impacted by the fire in Maui.
PJ - I had just bought that ATK 300, and felt like it would be a great bass to play for this gig, even though I'm a 5-string guy. I eventually sold this bass to a fellow forum bassist in Florida... and don't you know, I found another one through Facebook Marketplace about a year ago. My band mates love the tone, but I don't play it much. I have to replace the volume pot... can't find the original, but I bought a pot very close to the original... just have to find time to delicately remove/and/replace the pot with the new pot I ordered... will let you know how it works out, once replaced...
As far as the music scene is out here, and especially post-Covid... you'd be surprised at how much music is to be found here! Yes, typical Hawaiian/Jawaiian music, which is what tourists expect to hear... but, you can find Blues, Rock, Pop, etc... and, you'd be surprised at just how much Metal/Punk Rock is here as well! The amount of talent, and bands here, is astounding! I know several hundred-or-more musicians, in all genres... and yet, I feel like I only know maybe 20% of the musicians/bands on the Island of Oahu!
and PJ... thanks for the Prayers for the tragedy that has devastated Lahaina, Maui... I've played there in years past; it was a beautiful, historic town, loved the buildings, and relaxed vibes... if anyone wants to contribute to Lahaina relief efforts, just look online; Salvation Army , Red Cross etc...
