I've got several guitars and basses to sell, but I've decided not to sell them online. I'm not fishing for sales here. I seriously don't want to ship. I want whoever buys them to see them in person and to hear them so that I don't have the headaches. I've never had anyone to ask for a refund, but, you know. Besides, I live in podunk, and it's a bitch to get boxes.

I'm prepared for sales to take much longer. I've thought, eBay and craigslist, but do any of you have better ways of selling locally? I'm about two hours from Memphis, TN, closer to a medium sized town, and I think folks would come from those places, if any are interested.

My arthritis tells me it's time to thin the collection. Many of my guits were intended for live performances, and my playing has suffered from the progression of rheumatoid and osteo. I'm not down about it. It is what it is, and I'm a lucky man in so many ways.

It is really hard to choose which ones to let go of though. I love all of my instruments, but I need space, and at 61 with a few health problems, I want to make sure my kids don't have to deal with selling the gear when I'm gone.

Offer Up is another option. You get a lot of responses that immediately ask for your number, so you will want to ignore those.

Thanks

I'm sorry to hear about your arthritis, man. That just sucks.

Can I ask, generally speaking, where "podunk" is, in this case?

I'm two hours north of Memphis, and depending where you are in Nashville 2.5-3 West.

Once I started getting serious about it, I decided I just can't sell right now. Just not ready to go that far.

I'd already posted my hand-carved Eastman jazz box, pulled it out to play it, and realized that I worked hard to buy these guitars, and if I can get five minutes entertainment out of them, rheumatoid or no, I'm not letting them go just yet.
