Sylvain, am I correct to assume that at this time you only want a money order? That's fine with me. Please answer a couple more questions.......... You said it comes with a dvd, correct? What else is it packaged with? Thanks and this sounds like a great book.
Steve

I can only accept money order if you order directly from me. But you can place an order here and pay with credit card:

http://www.productionsdoz.com/c37813431 ... 846.2.html

The book comes with a DVD Data so,it's not video but audio data for 2.3 Go that represents over 1,000 tracks of specific drums tracks and bass demo for each groove and exercises.

There is also a chapter for theory as well for those who need it.

Feel free to ask some more if you have to

Thank you for your interest

Sylvain, I don't know Steve Chick personally, but am aware of his work. Botany is on the coast near Sydney a fair distance from the floods.
The floods are in Queensland and Northern New South Wales.
I'll go and order Groove 101 through the site address you posted.
thanks Leftieray

Thank you for the infos about the floods and Steve Chick.

Thank you for ordering and I'll be pleased to have your thoughts on the book,

Sylvain

Is there anything in this compendium that would help me slap and pop better?

This is not a book dedicated to slap,BUT, there are 20 grooves in the book using this technique.
So, you'll improve your technique by working on those grooves for sure.

For more on slap, I'll have a book called SLAP 101 coming up in about a year that will be focusing exclusively on that technique.

Thanks for your interest,

Sylvain

Received Groove 101 on Thursday. A quick look through. It looks quite easy to read, I'll be do some heavier reading this weekend and watch the DVD. Let you know what I think.

Glad to know you got the book right.

Just a few things: It might look easy to read but the real work is to play the grooves with the tracks.

The DVD has no videos, only data. Over 1,000 tracks to practice with. It would have took something like 10 cd's to fit all that stuff in.

Let me know how it goes and make sure to read the texts, they are important too ;-)

Ok, that sounds good.

Give me some feedbacks and don't hesitate if you have questions. My bass site is not running yet but it will be a great place to exchange on it and I can post some videos and tips as well.

Sylvain

Hi lefties,

I'm really excited about the book Groove 101. I know some of you bought the book and I really thank you for the trust you had about the product.

My girlfriend who is also a very good player is my tester lol, and she did put the website together and I'm very happy about the result, especially for the cost of it because the pros website designers where looking at something like 5 to 9 grants to design the site. Heuuh I know it is hip right now to have a flashy website but come on, be realistic. That was my bitching on that. I think my site is as good as any pro design's site. I would love to hear from you fellows to have a look around the two sites:
http://howtopracticebass.com/ and http://www.bassgroove101.com/.

There is some samples to see and hear here: http://howtopracticebass.com/page7/

This will give you an idea about the methodology of the book to improve your playing and inner clock also and hear different combinations of basses and mic preamps used in pro studio.

Thank you all and wish to hear from you here or there.

Sylvain

For those who care,

Arni did a review of the book for a german magazine http://www.bassquarterly.de/

And yes, it is in german ;-) But trough a translator program we are able to read it and get most of it.

It is already features at http://www.instituteofbass.com/news/

and I'm still waiting for a published review in Bass Guitar Mag in the UK. Love these guys.

I have sent about 6 emails to Bass Player without any answer :(

I hate went these kind of mag get to "business". May be I should ask my girlfriend to call them as my "agent" !!! I hate that shit !!!

Anyway the book is doing well without publicity yet and I'll be at my third production print soon.

Thanks for those who bought the book and I do believe there is nothing like that on the market yet.

Peace,

Sylvain

Hi Sylvain, just ordered your book today, and am having it shipped to my sister's house in Louisville, Ky, where I'll be for the next two weeks. Looking forward to reading and listening to your lessons while I'm on my vacation.

Had slight online ordering problem last night from your new ordering-website, but the customer service replies have been quick and professional.will let you know what I think in a couple weeks.

Hi Ian,

Thank you very much for your trust in this book. I hope you'll enjoy it and you'll benefit from working in it. Since you know a lot about "products" I look forward to have your opinion on it.

I guess you ordered from bassbooks.com? I'm glad they helped you out with the transaction,. They just received the books only few days ago and they did put it on their site with class ;-).

I look forward to hear from you and hopefully I'll be able to add some videos eventually on my site to support the customer service on this one but right now I'm in the middle of the recording of SLAP 101 and it is a lot of fun but also a big chunk of work :-)

See you soon,

Sylvain

Congrats Sly! Haven't the time to work through your book in awhile, but this reminds me it's time to pull it out again!
