Hi Chad, nice to have you here. What sort of injury did you suffer that forced the switch to lefty playing?

Hi Folks. I'm new to this group and it's nice to know there are so many "sinister" bass players out there! :) I live in Melbourne, Australia and have been playing bass for an embarrassingly long time...since 1973. Dinosaur, huh? :? Hope everyone is well out there and I'm looking forward to learning heaps from you all.Phillip.

Hello All

I'm a lefty that plays righty. had a 10 year break and started playing again about 12 months ago. Gone through a few amps and an awful lot of pedals (I balme MystciBoo!).

Welcome! And welcome back to the wonderful world of bass.
I took a few years off from playing myself a while ago. I recommend stepping away from your instrument now and then (maybe not 10 years, but at least a few weeks). For me, it cleared my head and allowed me to come back to it and rediscover the joys of playing again. Sometimes you can get in a rut and can lose your enthusiasm and creative edge. In my case, playing had become such a business that I had forgotten how much fun it was supposed to be.

Hi sk8, please feel free to post often in the pedal forum about all the pedals you've gone through/own. We'd be glad for more pedal talk. :)

And welcome!

Hi, guys!
My name is Sergey, I'm from Russia. I am a beginner bassist :)
Unfortunately, I very badly know English language, and therefore I will have to use the translator program. So excuse me if I will make mistakes in the text.

fivebass52, AzWhoFan, hello and thanks!
Now I have no bass. I only intend to buy it. I collect money now. My dream is the Jackson bass (Kelly or Randy Rhoads), but I don't know where can I find it? :)

Welcome to the forum, Sergey.

Left handed Jackson basses are VERY difficult to find, at least here in the US. The only place I've seen them available is in Japan at Taniguchi-Gakki here:

http://www.taniguchi-gakki.com/catalog/ ... ts_id=1128

I don't believe they export, however, so your next possibility is to ask Ken at Guitarshogun.com if he can get it for you:

http://www.guitarshogun.com/

Since you're a beginner I really think you'd be better off just finding a readily available lefty bass (Fender, Ibanez) first. (Or, don't shoot me forum members, learn to play right handed on a righty bass!). Then, if you want to continue playing bass, you can try to find a Jackson. I think you're going to pay heavy shipping and import fees for the Jackson even if you are able to get it to your country, probably not worth the cost.
