I had written this as a short story over ten years ago. I always thought there was more, and in light of the current political mood, the story kind of rewrote itself.
The inspiration for this story came about when I was living on a lake in Windham, NH and pondered this question: what would I do if the United States was invaded? Set in the near future in Georgia, the story is about an elderly couple just trying to stay alive as their beloved country is invaded. My agent has already started shopping the screenplay to some very prominent actors.
