I again put off doing my taxes until the last minute.

I assumed I could pull up my W-2 online, like I did for 2014. That is a no-go; last year's W-2 is not available. I can't scrounge around for my paper copy because I am in California.

Oops.

Now I have to send an embarrassing e-mail to H.R. to ask for another copy to be mailed out.

Well, it's too late to tell you to just file and extension... that's what I did yesterday... and I'm lucky - my landlord/roommate is my Taxman, and a bass player, so he knows exactly how to make it all good! :D :D

I hate to be contrarian but .... my company always withholds too much tax because we get a yearly bonus so I make a point of filing by mid-Feb and get a refund within 5 business days. However this year we got 1099'd as a band two weeks ago (dumb-a$$ed mofo's). In my case it made no difference to my bottom line as I had already accounted for the income, I just had to file an amended return. which was still a PITA ...

anyone else have 1099 horror stories they care to share?
