My son asked me to take him to the London Bass Guitar Show, and seeing as I had nothing better to do, I did go.
Surprise surprise Stuart Spector was there, and I got to chat a bit with him, told him I had one of his Euro basses which was awesome, and that I'd wish we lefties could buy the US goodies.
Turns out he now has CNC files to start producing lefty basses, and as a matter of fact he just took deposit to start building the first one. He said something like "turns out my CNC software has a mirror command!", and I was there thinking "well you could have discovered that one 5 years ago!!" :x

Good to know! Curious - what did your son think of that Spector six-string?

He says, and I quote:
- great for slapping
- like the thick neck
- easy and comfortable to play
- nice round sound although hard to say with all the background noise

I met Stewart at a local guitar and bass show in PA last year and he and his staff told me they were working on making USA lefties. I had a custom bass built that is loosely based on a Spector design with EMG's and the funny thing is, while making rounds during the show, i was playing the custom through an Aguilar rig and he asked me if it was a Spector lol He is a nice guy and I told him that I really liked my Rebop 4 string with EMG's. I met his staff along with Doug Wimbish there, it was a good day. I'm glad to see Stewart offer lefties, but at the price point, I'd rather have a full custom build.
