Hello fellow Southpaws. I'm new here, but have been a lurker for awhile. I'm a lefty and have been playing for almost 5 years. I initially found the forum looking for info on lefty MIJ Ibanez models and then signed up. I'm also into effects and have become a fuzz and overdrive pedal hoarder it seems.

I learned a lot from the forum from gear reviews to technique and hope to post here when I can. I own 2 G&L's and a modded Spector Rebop 4 DLX. I also run both an Ampeg SVTII Non Pro and a Gallien Krueger 400RB amp into Bergantino and Low Down Sound cabs and I'm also a big Motorhead fan.

I have owned a bunch of gear in the past and share everyone's struggle with finding quality lefties. I'll try to post up what I find in the NY/NJ Tri State area. Once in awhile, there are a few gems to be found. I also am having a custom bass built for me that is going to be complete by July or August. Thanks for reading!

Thanks for the warm welcome to the forum. I will write up some pedal reviews when I get back to my pc.

I am having a custom bass built for me from the ground up by RG Custom Basses out of Nashville TN. Rich is the Luther and is actually a lefty himself but plays righty.

I was in the market for a Lefty Spector Euro 4 LX for a long time and I am a long time customer of Dennis at Adirondack Guitar in NY. So to make a long story short, a Spector Euro lefty would run between $2k to $2400 and there is a wait since the basses are built in the Czech Republic.

I own a Spector Rebop and know that I would replace the Tone Pump preamp with an EMG or Aguilar like I did with the Rebop. So I commissioned a build with RG Custom Basses for a custom build.

The bass is his "Pathos" model and will be a 5 piece neck of Spalted Ambrosia Maple and Eastern Walnut. The body wings will be Spalted Ambrosia Maple and it will have an ebony fretboard.

I basically built my dream active bass and it will have a Schaller 3D-4:Bridge and an EMG BQC preamp with an EMG 35DCx in the neck and a 35CSx in the bridge with Gotoh 707 tuning machines.

I always wanted a full custom build an loosely based this one on my dream bass influenced by Spector. Rich builds the entire bass by hand and uses no CNC machines. He puts over 250 man hours into his builds and uses exotic woods. He's a truly helpful guy and so far has surpassed my expectations.

If anyone is interested, his site is rgcustombasses.com and he also has Facebook and Instagram pages. The build is coming out to $2400 which is what I would have spent on a Spector Euro, not including the preamp or pickup replacement and labor. I'm very excited and will make a thread about it when it arrives.

I also own a G&L L2000, SB-2 and a 'Custom' Squier if you will. Sorry if this sounds like a promo for the RG bass, I can edit my post if the moderators or users request. My name over on Talkbass is Unfinely Tuned if anyone looks me up.

Thanks a lot. I AM getting progress pictures here and there, but will post it when it's complete. Somehow I always seem to be posting from my phone. I'll post up some rig pics in the next few days of my gear.

By the way, does anyone have any experience with any of the universal fit bass cases? I'm contemplating a custom road case for the RG or maybe the SKB ATA case, but want a snug fit. Thanks in advance for any advice.
