Between the lefty Gibson run and the lefty Ric's back in production it's Christmas before Christmas in the lefty world!

OK, since we're at it let me add something on my wish-list: A lefty US Fender Jazz with maple neck or even better 1975 Jazz!!! Please Santa!

Lefties seem to be the latest trend in the guitar world. Godin is back making 13 pin lefty synth guitars, as is Brian Moore, and nearly every Gibson available in 2013 is going to be available left handed with the mini ETune robot tuners. While it's nice to have more options, I have to wonder how music store chains will carry lefties for trying hands on, however, other than the usual Squire.

Suddenly I don't feel so "special" anymore. ;)

I don't think it will change much on the field considering that the shelf-time of a lefty product can be quite extensive. However, the e-commerce allows to channel the demand and allows the manufacturers to assess the volume to produce. In addition, we are also allowed to think the few lefty guitar and bass sites have contributed to this.

Now, If anyone is interested in those products, one certainly should jump on it as it might not last.

@ Amimbari => Man, you make me laugh with collection of pointy-headed instruments, everytime I see someone playing one of those, I think of you now!

Cool, is that one of the more recent DK-2's?
I used to own one of the last pre-Fender ones (2009 or 2010 made I think), I actually ordered it brand new. Which I really shouldn't have, because one year later Fender upgraded them with real Seymour Duncans and black hardware instead of the previous Duncan Designed pickups and chrome hardware, and they dropped the prices by half!

It was a decent and fun guitar and has been my main axe before I started favouring the bass above guitar playing. I've had all kinds of pickup combinations in it. When I finally sold it, it had a DiMarzio PAF PRO in the bridge, a DiMarzio FS-1 in the center position and a DiMarzio FastTrack 2 in the neck.

jeroen, I am not sure of the year yet. Jap serials are notoriously unreliable for dating, but yes it has the SDs not the DD's in it.
I am like the rest of you all and really only play the bass, but it was too cheap in it's condition to pass up despite the fact I HATE c.a.r color.
There is a black unit with chrome hardware and the DD's on ebay which was similarly priced, but it had no case and that red one did.
the one on ebay has a 972 serial and mine has a 978 so it is newer, but to what year???? -- I dunno.
