This is great news indeed for us Beatle fans. Prints of this film currently on the market are downright hideous. Newly remastered and restored DVD/Blue Ray will be released on October 8th with all sorts of extras, including a new interviews with Ringo and the director himself, Sir Paul McCartney. Check it out:

This is "Magical" news! I'm getting a copy and passing it on to my Beatles fanatic friends... :)

About bloody time! All the available versions that have been released before (including VHS, bootleg DVD, etc.) were copied from a single 16mm print. The original masters have been missing almost from the time of the original TV release in 1967.

This will only put more pressure on to finally release Let It Be, which supposedly has been remastered, but delayed for various reasons (such as Paul not wishing to 'celebrate' what was a particularly unhappy period).
