This is nothing compared to pjmuck's story about meeting Robert Randolph at a kid's birthday party, but was still somewhat unique. How many times have you shown up to a friend's party where they have a band playing? Often enough, I'm sure. Last night, I headed over to a friend's huge block party. He had his friend's band there, set up on the deck overlooking the backyard. Great party -- hundreds of people, huge industrial strength BBQ, roaring campfire, and tons of great food & drink.

After exchanging pleasantries with the hosts and grabbing a plate of food, I sat down to eat and looked up to see the band getting ready to play. Had to do a double-take...the bassist is lefty! Introduced myself at the break. The bassist never had another lefty play her bass and insisted I sit in on a couple of tunes. Very gracious of the band -- had a great time and afterwards, tried to recruit her to join this online community.
