Okay. Maybe not "THE" chart. But it is in "A" chart.

Specifically the Music World Radio Top 20 in the UK. It's a brilliant UK internet station and they've showed us a lot of love. You can visit their website at http://www.topchoons.com and vote in their chart.

My band "Clockwise" is in the #7 position with our song "You Really Got Me Going". I would appreciate it, if any of you have the time, if you could pop by and give us a vote. I know it's just internet radio but it would be cool to get to #1 on something!

Here's a link to the song in question - http://www.reverbnation.com/artist/song_details/11863200 - so you can decide for yourself if it warrants a bump.

We've always been really well received in the UK. People come up to us at shows and actually request songs. OUR SONGS! We can barely get 40 of our closest friends out to a show in our hometown of Toronto. (Probably because we're all getting old, tubby, grey and balding  and because we don't fit into the skinny jeans that the kids are wearing today.) But we've had several very successful trips to the UK. Sold out of merch the last two times. They seem to have a "music is music" approach to things and still love live music. I'm sure it helps that we sound like we were reared on Joe Jackson, Elvis Costello and Graham Parker AND that we are from "away".

Anyway, thanks for your help!

I meant to tell you back when you posted a couple of months ago that both your bands are excellent power pop. (The lead singer of COTLB reminds me of somebody, but I can't quite place it. Robyn Hitchcock?). Anyway, this is my kind of music. Not surprised you're going over better in the UK. Are you in both simultaneously or is one your main band and the other...not? Really like some of the bass tones you got in the recordings too. Nice growl on, "See You Smile."

Nice job.

Thank you for the props PJ! Your kind words will be shared with the other guys.

To answer your question, I play in both bands pretty full time. The "scene" in Toronto for music like this is limited. Especially for guys my age. I don't hold it against anyone, it is what it is. I do have a couple of other "paying gigs" that I do regularly which are less fulfilling for the soul but pay for my other musical endeavours. Clockwise and COTLB will be back in the UK this May. The COTLB drummer can't make it, so Sweet Jimmy from Clockwise is going to sit in with us for those shows.

FYI I just looked up my production notes for See You Smile and I used my old 1977 Rickenbacker 4001 - which I sold in a moment of weakness so I could buy my wife a lavish birthday gift, d'oh! - and a mid seventies SVT with a 9 x10 cab - no it's not a typo, I said 9x10 - our engineer/producer has. We used the Ric'O'Sound and sent the neck p/u to the SVT and mic'd the cab, sent the bridge p/u to my old Traynor Bass Mate plugged into a 2x15 and mic'd it, and also took a clean DI from both p/u's. Both amps were set to SERIOUS overdrive. The engineer then mixed all four tracks together to find the sweet spot. Easy as pie! LOL

Thanks again!
