This is the one to get! I wonder if that battery box is original though? Usually battery is in the control cavity.

HA! This guy just sent me an e-mail yesterday asking if I was still looking for an NT4. I'm not sure how he found me, but it appears he also has a '91 NT4 that he is looking to unload.

I found a guy on the FB forums who had an ‘87 thumb. He’d broken his battery cover- see pic, so it looks original from that period. Not sure, but those pups may be EMGs, in the early days before MEC?

I hear ya. I am a 4-string guy, but this is the one 5-string I would like to try to hear the difference made by the pickup positioning on the 5 vs. the 4. But, my gut tells me that the difference would be negligible.

I may even prefer the pickup positioning on the 4 since the 5 would almost certainly sound more "quacky" in order to tighten up the sound of the 5th string.
