Very nice, and in excellent condition. The seller has more pics here: https://www.zikinf.com/annonces/dispann ... ce=1517048 Nice to have the case too. I have two of these, and almost bought a third one for my Roadster until I found out someone had painted all over the outside  . The proper lefty cases of this model are pretty rare, the grey formfit case is much more common and I believe is universal for lefties and righties.

Shipping to the US is crazy. It's a difficult item to ship, being in one piece and in a case, but still... 350 sounds ridiculous. So does 150 to Western-Europe. I shipped an Aria SB-1000 (also neck-through and in a hardcase) from the Netherlands to Croatia two weeks ago for just 35 Euros. The issue with the preamp is probably nothing major. The preamps in these basses are fairly easy to work with, mounted on large prints. The only issue that I would be concerned with is the EQ knobs have been replaced with metal ones. I like the original ones better. |

I was a repair tech at Sam Ash Music in Brooklyn, N.Y., in 1979. I saw and worked on these when they first came out. I never saw a lefty. This was the point in time, where Ibanez started making instruments on their own, no more lawsuit copies.. The early Artist guitars, the George Benson series.. great guitars. I'm sorry I didn't order one of the MC 924's, but I distinctly remember why I didn't. These basses were quite innovative. They had a three band pre-amp, battery box, and steel reinforcing rods in the neck. All pretty mainstream stuff now. These were two things right off the bat. Yes, they were heavy. They had killer tone, but they were VERY noisy basses. The single coils really picked up a lot of RF. Later versions with the humbuckers addressed that issue, but didn't sound as good, to me. The big reason why I didn't get one, was that they really were pretty difficult to set up well. The neck itself, the steel rods, truss rod, and string tension, were four forces all fighting for territory! I set up many of them, and always had to find that compromise in relief and action height.. like any other bass, but these MC 924's always were just a bit more troublesome. If I were more financially able, I'd probably buy it. Just to have and use on occasion. |

I agree on the neck adjustment issues. I have two that are perfectly fine (they're in my avatar) but I briefly had a third one that had issues. The part where the steel rods were was fine, but there was a distinct bend at the spot where the rods ended and the neck joined the body. It was minor, but serious enough to impact adjustability and playability. |
