The S is best in mapleglo. That's an established fact; not debateable.  OK, it's subjective. But imo that high quality, unpainted maple uninterrupted by binding is delicious. |

Nice Rick. There's even a bit of birdseye in that body. It would be interesting to see them do something with some wild figured maple. |

IMO, Ric's maple wood supply has gone in the toilet over the last 10 years. anything vaguely resembling figured/flamed maple is/was reserved for 381V's and sometimes 360's or 660's. That's not to say the wood they are currently using is sub-par, but it most certainly is plain-Jane looking. Maybe they are sitting on a stash of figured wood, but I'll be darned if they are. |
