This looks like a killer deal. I already own two Jazz-style basses, and I'm still sorely tempted:

Yeah, no doubt. I would grab it in a second if it were in driving distance.

I have an identical one. I upgraded mine with allthread bridge, lefty Kluson reverse tuners, and EMG's.. It has, by far, the most stable neck on any of my Fenders, I have 7. A GREAT bass for that price. I paid $410. for mine on Ebay, about 15 years ago, and it was killer deal then!

I just gave the owner a call, I'll be going to see it tomorrow. I'll almost certainly be buying it, unless there's something seriously wrong with it. He's about 90 miles away, but for that price I just can't say no. :D

Sweet! With the exception of stacked knobs and a mint guard, this is what my Custom Shop Jazz is gonna look like. Very nice. 8-)

Thanks Matt, the same was done with a Fiesta Red, that I really like. The Mint Pick guard would be a very cool retro look.

Well, I bought it. :D The drive to the owner's house was a big PITA, over two hours each way, but it was worth it. The body has several long cracks in the finish and some unfortunate deep scratches in the back, but this bass definitely has it where it counts. It's very comfortable to play, and the tone is freaking unbelievable!

I was kinda bummed about the condition of the finish at first, but it's already starting to grow on me. At least I won't have to worry about getting dings in it. :)
