I do not dis-agree that this is a fake Gibson Les Paul Bass, but what did you notice to think it was fake, for me it just doesn't look right but not sure what the actual triggers are with this one.

Lastly, it looks as if the seller has a good rating, I believe he is a legit seller who may not be aware that it is not legit, did anyone inform the seller?

To me the head stock shape and the pickups look wrong. The saddle component of the bridge should be at an angle.

Paulo can probably add more since he actually owns a real one.

Photo 1 : Neck has no binding, pickups are different, saddle and bridge pieces are not only different but are in wrong position, the left one being very close to the bottom of the body and the top piece straight instead of tilted, knobs are different and the body seems to have a different shape.
Photo 2: Headstocks have different shape, different logos, truss rod covers are different and the writing on the left truss rod cover is for a right handed one or it's upside down, no neck binding.
Photo 3: writing is printed to the back of the headstock on the left while the right one is pressed to the back of the headstock.
That's only what I see :)

I sent him a message about 4 days ago and he simply ignored it, the listing was removed by Ebay and now it's on CL listed just as a "lefty bass" and $200 cheaper, but it still expensive for what it is...https://orangecounty.craigslist.org/msg/6179160128.html

Well, at least he's calling it a Les Paul copy in the CL listing....

It's back on Ebay at a $340 starting price with a somewhat more appropriate description.

The easiest way to spot any fake Gibson, is to look at the truss rod cover. Gibson, on most or all of its models, uses two screws to hold it on. Asian made instruments frequently use three. The Chinese copies that are blatantly using trademark names- are of a surprisingly good quality for the money. But some of them are just over-the-top near counterfeits.
