Stopped by Guitar Showcase San Jose this morning. This was sitting in the back room, still in its unopened delivery box. Dan was happy to open it up for me.

it's great to see Ric produce lefty 4003S basses, but is it just me who's not in love with the fretboard wood figuring? don't know why it strikes me as weird, maybe I'm just used to seeing a straighter grain pattern??? |

I love the crazy grain on the fingerboard, but I can definitely see how it would be a turnoff. |

I love the rosewood figuring. That's why I took close ups of it. The figuring is very noticeable on the side of the neck, too -- something to keep in mind, especially if you prefer to avoid looking at it. |
