Sorry, not exactly a lefty product but thought it was interesting anyway. Heard a lot of good about TI flats so I bought a set to try. Bought a 5-string set from Bass Northwest way back in 2005 (the year I went to Seattle to see Paul McCartney...), still have them on my custom 5-string (avatar) bass. It's a 36" scale, so finding extra long strings back then was a bit of a challenge, so I was excited that these would fit. Been on ever since, and they're still going strong! That's a good price, so go ahead and "bite the bullet" - don't think you'll be sorry!

I have them strung on my Jag Bass and love 'em! They are seriously expensive string so if you were ever considering trying them out but spooked by the price, I've never seen them cheaper new. |

Down to 51.74... bought them along with Priority Mail - 7.16 - so I'll have them in time for a gig I'm doing in Hilo, Hi on the 8th. |

You are welcome So: first experience with them, after installing on my V7. They have a lot of bounce. I like, but it might not be for everybody. Second, I was surprised by the sound: it is not as mellow as I thought it would be, but more bright. Not a bad thing per se (it puts them closer to rounds), but just an unexpected, more modern sound. Also love the feel on the fingers, though it surprisingly takes some getting used to. Also, less finger noise moving up and down the frets. So all in all very nice strings, but expect them to be a bit bright (which I can certainly change with the V7 eq) and quite a lot of bounce, not firm. |

They may be expensive initially, but flatwounds last for years, don't they? |

Pretty much. But even TI's round-wounds are notorious for lasting a long time. |

After playing them for a awhile, I think you'll find they will settle in, and get a bit more mellow. Plus, it's easier to dial brightness out, than trying to eq it back in... enjoy!
