I wish I could afford this right now...

Together with that beautiful black MM Sabre that's for sale on the board, that one's way up high on my GAS-list.

"i guess this bass is worth 5x what i am asking,in a couple of years,at least"

Uh Huh.
I'd love to find one some day too, but $1300 is too high for that now, IMO, unless he's valuing it up against newer G&L pricing. Even so, the last lefty L1000 I saw was under a year ago when the market was inflated, and it went for $650.00.

True. I've been amazed by secondhand prices for G&L's almost every time I followed one on eBay. Over here in Europe they're very hard to find and if you do find one they're very expensive. In the US secondhand G&L's often sell for less than a new MIM Fender would set you back over here in Europe.

They've actually been undervalued here in the US for a while. It's only recently that they've started creeping up, especially newer ones. G&L basically brought their pricing up to everyone else's "standards" now ($1350-$1500 for a new L2000).

The Tribute L2000 is the best bass I've ever played for under $500 (street price). It's killer. Better than the MIA ASAT bass I had.

Their guitars are great too. I used to have a Legacy Special for a while, in a crazy blue swirl photo finish, that played fantastically. I could not get used to the tone of those dual rail Gotoh-pickups though, and didn't really feel like experimenting endlessly with various pickup configurations without knowing for sure if I'd like the end result. So I sold it again. I now have an ASAT Special that I absolutely love to death. Those huge magnetic field design pickups sound fantastic. Warmer and more powerful than regular Tele singlecoils, somewhat similar to Fender Jazzmaster pickups. Awesome guitar.

My SB-2 is a great bass too. The neck is slightly twisted, but I got it back from my local luthier last week who has given it a fret leveling job. It plays sweet now, easier than any of my other basses. The sound ranges from big, powerfull and warm Precision-on-steroids tone to a bright and punchy Jazz-like tone.

I'd like an L2000 once too. Maybe I'll give one of those Tributes a try. I'm looking for a decent fourstring to tune to ADGC (a full note below low B) for my female fronted metalband. I was actually considering buying another ATK300, but the Tribute L2000 may fit the bill very well too.

Why doesn't that happen more often to us lefties too?
