Beautiful bass, and I'm sure It Plays great but with that being said about three weeks ago I was at a local open jam and a bassist (righty) had one. he said he only had it for a couple of days and didn't have it dialed in yet and I have to say as beautiful as it looked (some deep re stain on the wood) the sound from out in the audience, to me at least, was muddy and undefinded. To be perfectly frank that night I heard fender Js and Ps, a Warwick and a Sire and to my ears it was hands a down the worst sounding of the bunch. Just my two cents

I have a friend who has an Xotic with a Beautiful dark Cherry finish, and it sounds very good, with a recognizable jazz bass sound.... I can't help but wonder if the person you saw playing one just didn't know how to eq his properly. Active eq systems aren't as easy as people think they are...
