A mystery model. Hopefully they'll post more info. To the best of my research and based on the body looks, it looks like a 2 PUP XKB model, but I see no records of Kramer offering one. Scroll down link to see history of their aluminum neck instruments:

As the resident Kramer aluminium neck freak here....

I think this is a Stagemaster Imperial. They were available in a wide range of colours and multi-lam configurations. Remember, back then Kramer was a really small niche builder and they would do lots of one off finishes etc. This one does match all the spec's of an Imperial for sure though.

I thought so too at first, but the Imperial seems to have a different body shape looking at photos online. The one for sale has the round heel like an XKB, whereas the Imperial has the pointy tip on the end of the heel:

Walnut Finish, P and J style pickups, Gold Hardware, Aluminum Neck with wood inserts, and Crown Inlays. A Rare Left Handed Kramer bass. Included is a time period hardshell case. HSC $1395..."

I had one of those Kramer basses in Black, I purchased it for $200 bucks used in 83 and sold it around 88. It was a great playing bass and was a second bass to my Rickenbacker.

Here is a video of me playing the bass at a beer store opening.

Go to 6 Minutes to see the bass, funny story is my kids are teenagers playing in bands and when I showed them this video so they could see Dad play when he was a kid the feed back I got was "Look how thin you are and Look at all your hair!". Not quite the feedback I was expecting.

That's when you look them in the eye, tell them "I AM YOU FUTURE!" and laugh maniacally.

Great punk rock CCR covers! Was that intentional or was it just a high-energy performance?
