Thanks for posting it Paulo. It seems like a fair deal compare to others CS instruments.

That's $3318 US dollars, and including VAT! New, this would have been what - $5/6000? And to my English Bretheren, what does VAT mean, and how much additional cost does it represent?

Sly, if you feel you got a good deal, then I hope it fulfills your dreams of a '57! :)

I think it is a fair deal, not a good deal but without the VAT it is 20% off the price which I'll have to pay here in Canada may be a little less. Also no waiting for 4 to 6 months which is pretty good to me. If everything is going to plan i should have it this friday or next week.

Post subject:  Little review

Hey gang, probably my first review here, I hope I'll be up to the task ;-)

This is my first Custom Shop ever and thanks to Addison for his input about CS instruments. I am impressed so far with the quality and the set-up. The bass came from GB IN TUNE. No ajustements required, it played perfectly out of the case. The neck feels great with the relic finish even for a baseball bat kind of neck. I learned on a 75' P-Bass so I was not surprised about the shape that much.

The sound is what I was hoping for: Fat and open. Even sounding all the way up and down. Perfect for my taste.

The only odd thing which isn't so bad for me is the fact the bass came with roundwounds strings instead of flats which should come with a '57 bass I think. But I love RW strings, I'll see if I'll put a set later may be not since I love the tone like that so far.

I didn't have to wait 4 months or so for a build which I like ;-) Took only a week from GB to Canada, not bad.
I'm happy and now it's time to get back to play to a certain level after the stroke...

Yes I feel relief in fact ...
We all know how difficult it is to buy instruments over the net, especially for us.

Cool looking bass, I find it funny how Fender does alot of work to make a bass look and play like a 57 bass but the Lawyers require CE (Euro Compliance) and Symbol for "Do not to throw electronics in general trash".

Cool!!! So glad it worked out for you Syl... the Fender Custom Shop is really on top of its game these days (as is pretty much the entire USA line of basses), and that bass is just so damn sexy!!

It's not the lawyers... those stickers are required by law for export into the EU.

Thank you Chris, you helped me out with your recommandations. I don't regret a thing with this one. It's a keeper for sure. It sounds better then the 2 others P's I have which sound pretty good already.
