Does the black guard come with that color bass? My friend had a '96 that came with a white guard, and I switched guards with him because I had a teal 'Ray; we did it the day I installed his Basslines pickup in his. That could be my friend's old bass. Serial number would have been L 01xx or so.

They come with whatever color pickguard is ordered from the dealer, EBMM carries no inventory, every bass built per order. I put a Tort guard on my HoneyBurst Also I found out that my HoneyBurst SR4 happens to be the second left handed SR4 built under the Ernie Ball brand. Excellent bass!

I love the look of that finish with a white guard. I bet a clear pickguard would look great on it too.
