That's about the right price for a new MJ-4 with every option under the sun. I know because that's what I did with mine!  I paid slightly less for mine, and rather than having a premium finish and matching headstock (about the only upgrades I didn't get), mine has stainless frets. ... and a reversed headstock ... and neck binding Anyway, the MJ-4 is a sweet bass. I can't imagine anybody who likes jazz basses would be less than delighted with it. |

Bi-coil are standard on the MJ-4. I'm actually not certain if they'll build them with the standard JB-2 An5 vintage style pickups. |

I've tried several times to contact ADK, and I've never gotten a reply, same with Jerry's guitars. I guess if I ever want something from them, a call is best. |

I remember seeing this bass on that ADK site when I did an image search for "left MJ-4" or whatever. I told myself I would snatch it up if it ever came up for sale, and here it is! The thing is, I am not thrilled with my tone at the moment, so I am not as excited to drop the money on a second MJ-4. On the other hand, with as much tone-shaping equipment as I have, there has to be a way for me to get the sound I am looking for out of my MJ-4... |

You've had that beauty for a while, no? My philosophy is that if the raw signal from the bass doesn't wow me, it's not worth keeping. Despite lusting after a Kiloton for a year, and then waiting 11 months after paying the deposit, I unloaded it after less than a year. I have some nice gear, and I tried different settings for EQ and drive, but the raw materials just weren't there. I lost a few bucks, but now I have a Stingray Special HH that I freaking love. My SB-2, on the other hand, I can plug straight into my interface and be in heaven. I can EQ and distort and it still sounds great because it already sounded great. |
