Notice how there is no "skunk stripe" on the back of the neck. That's how they get the truss rod into the neck if the neck and fretboard are made out of one piece of wood. In this case, there is no need for the skunk strip because the board is "capped" onto the neck, allowing them to install the truss rod before it's all glued together. |

Thanks, Jayce. I did notice the lack of a skunk stripe, whereas my Japan '75 Reissue Jazz does have the stripe, and I have heard they do not have a seperate fretboard. I can't visually confirm this, however, because of the neck binding. |

I have seen it in other posts but remember that sometime Fender will add a Skunk Stripe just for cosmetic appearance especially in re-issue basses. |
