I used to have one of these.. Great basses. Strung reverse for those lefty strung righty guys. Easy mod back to lefty on a Warwick.

This one is even nicer. Its got the Wengé neck... :D

I just learned what a "Just A Nut" is all about. I wish all of my basses had them. Such a great and simplifying concept.

Am I the only one who thinks the book matching kinda sucks on this one? :roll: One side has wood grain running horizontally and the other has it running vertically.

Hahah! Yeah, that's funny. I hadn't noticed that, but now that you mention it, it appears that the flaming is much more pronounced on the bottom wing, especially at the front, but fading towards the bridge, and hardly exists at all on the top wing.

Looks odd indeed! On my LX, the body isn't bookmatched either, but the pieces match pretty well and since mine isn't a natural finish but trans black, it's much less noticable. Still, that's a pretty nice bass!

Yeah, now that you mention it, I don't like that effect. I downgrade my assessment from "very pretty" to "pretty nice." :D

Could be the lighting. The back of my Höfner has beautiful crazy flame on it and it can all but disappear if the light hits it at a certain angle.

agreed. You can see some flame on the horn. I'll bet dollars to doughnuts that it's a trick of the light

I'm not so sure about that. Go look at the rest of the photos in the auction. There's photos of the back as well. There's clearly a distinction between the two sides of the bass. The wood grain is running in opposite directions on both sides.

Still a nice bass though. ;)

The grain is running the same on both sides, top to bottom. The flame pattern runs against the grain. It appears that the flame is more pronounced on the one side.
