having physically handled, installed, and played both USACG and Warmoth necks, I'd choose to save 3/4 pound and go with the USACG neck ... even if it takes a little longer because you had to custom order it

I'll also say that I'm not a big fan of steel stiffening bars, so the graphite bars in the USACG are also very appealing to me as well

Yeah, Warmoth has had that neck up there for a WHILE.

I'm with you Rodent, I'd much prefer the USACG neck. (I'm actually working on a build right now witha Warmoth body and USACG neck, pics forthcoming). I saw that one they had up a week or so ago and then when I went back this past weekend it was sold. Bummer but I'm sure there will be more.

I ask because I should note that a USACG 5-string neck is note designed to fit in a Warmoth Deluxe 5 neck pocket. The USACG neck is a 21-fret neck shaft with the 22nd fret overhanging the fretboard. In contrast the Warmoth Deluxe 5 is a 22 fret neck with no overhang.

Just wanting to give you a warning if a 5-string hybrid was your plan

I have 3 Warmoth necks (2 awaiting projects) and yes they are a bit heavy though the one on my PJ doesn't cause neck dive. I have wondered why Warmoth dosen't you graphite stiffening bars instead of steel. Any amount of weight reduction would be a good thing IMHO.

Still $140 ain't a bad deal!

No, its a four string Warmoth Dinky J (swamp ash with quilt top) with a USACG J-neck, but thanks for the tip.
