Pretty cool, but I'd like to see an image of the truss rod nut.

"This unusual bass guitar has a jazz neck attached to a precision body. These were manufactured, from what I understand, only during 1974 and 1975."

I wouldn't put it past Fender to do this during the 70's, but I've never heard of this until now.

Anyone seen or heard of this before?

Well I've heard of a limited number of examples of 70s pbasses that had blocks & binding, but I don't know if they were necessarily Jazz necks.. Would have to look it up to get more info.

I gave it serious thought. A vintage black bound and blocked jazz neck was tempting, but I've really should be considering selling some of what I've already accumulated. A lot of them just sit in cases. Hard to justify another.

This has nothing to do with the auction, but I thought I might throw it in there anyway! This is mine as I had the same idea awhile ago.

This is a Frankenbass. The neck is a Warmoth block and bound Jazz neck from another project. The body is a Squier Standard series P-bass, with a Custom shop Jazz pickup and Vintage DiMarzio P-bass pickup. Bridge is Badass and tuners are Hipshot. The pots were changed to 250K linear taper with a .100 cap.

Thanks!

Cool! Thanks for the info. Nice sounding and a good player I imagine.

I put together a Vintage Modified Neck on Korean P bass Black body/ white pick guard with a PAF Dimarzio PU that I like a lot. Almost a twin to yours. I added chrome PU and bridge covers, a 70's decal and refinished the headstock and back of the neck in a vintage tint for the" Old School" look.

Those vintage Dimarzio P pups are killer. Nice and aggressive. I have a vintage 70's aged cream Dimarzio P (PAF) I want to put in my 73' Fender P.

Bill, you have wiring specs for them? They have 4 wires as opposed to 2 and I think they can be wired series/parallel... Thanks
