This person has several basses listed. The G&L in this link was $100 more a few weeks back. Stingray is claimed to be "early" - could be interesting!

I remember when this G&L was being sold by one of our board members. I love the look of this bass. Regarding the Musicman, I assume the electronics were modified as EB never made a lefty Stingray with a 2 band eq.

I contacted the buyer regarding the 2eq lefty Stingray, and according to him it was ordered as such from the previous buyer directly from MM.

Could be interesting but when I asked for the serial number, the seller told me it was in the neck pocket and won't do the effort to unscrew neck to give it to me.

This for me is a deal breaker: if you want to sell a guitar for some $800.00, I think you should do the effort and provide the serial, otherwise it makes the whole deal look fishy...

Is taking a neck off and putting a bass back together as easy as taking the strings off, removing the screws and then putting them and the strings back on?

I have never done it, and therefore I wouldn't feel comfortable doing it. This is something I have wondered about since I first saw someone have pictures of the neck removed on an eBay auction.

Maybe it is because I know nothing about bass repair, but it just seems like it is just an opportunity for problems to arise.

On the other hand, I am rather paranoid and perfectionistic in general...

Yes, it is as easy as you mention in your first sentence. You do not even have to remove the strings totally, just loosen them enough, remove the screws on the back, look at serial and put back. It takes max 5 minutes and it is super easy.

The Stingray serial number would be on the bridge.

EB only makes 3 band preamps for lefties; MM only made 2 band. The bass in the photo has a 2 band.

Wouldn't the serial be on the bridge or back plate? Or did MM have them indeed in the neck pocket? Still trying to figure out if this is the real thing or not...

Something about the pickguard/body seems off and that bridge is definitely not factory issue. Hmmmm...

Well the seller just edited the ad and the "EBMM Stingray" is no longer listed. As Dano mentioned it, EBMM has never made a 2 band lefty preamp (yes Dano I said 3 earlier but I meant 2 and edited my first post) even on special orders and the serial number is usually on the back of the headstock.
I think that Addison even called EB once about this and they said they would not make a lefty 2 band eq even on custom order.

I am no longer buying basses but at the time I was dying to buy this LB-100, especially for $650 (what it was listed for by our member). It is not for everyone but I love the funky color.
