Wow. If this was a 4-string I don't think I could help myself. I would start thinking of ways to rob a bank or get ahold of a kidney or something.

There is just something about a vibrant blue body with a maple fretboard that excites me way too much.

I've always wanted to try one of those "toilet cover" basses but never got a chance. This one looks cool.

I have been super close to getting one of these on two occasions. The first time was a 5 stringer at Southpaw Guitar. It was too narrow for me. I wanted a 19mm bridge. The 2nd time was at Drum City Guitarland, the store in your link. It was a 4 string bass in Tangerine, and that was awesome. I don't know about this maple neck one, but the rosewood ones had a painted neck with a satin poly finish on the back that was similar to the Fender Jazz Deluxe I used to own, and the newer American fenders. I never liked Musicman's neck finish on their Stingray (gunstock oil), but I loved the finish on the Bongo.
That might be something to keep in mind.

I'm usually not very fond of Bongo's or blue instruments, but this one I like! The mahogany body instead of basswood is a plus for me, and I love the maple neck and fingerboard. All regular Bongo's have their necks painted in the same finish as the body with a rosewood fingerboard. I like the look of this one much better, and that neck is simply stunning! 8-)

That Bongo IS very nice. They also have a Beautiful Stingray 5 with a Honeyburst finish and an all rosewood neck. Yowsers!

The Bongo never did it for me though the ones I've heard sounded great. I admit that it is the looks that I can't get past.

The Green Sparkle Stingray sure gets my motor running though!

Oh, no worries there, Pete! My money would go towards your Thumb before the blue Bongo! Or just about anything else, for that matter :D
